Mornings are fast and sometimes chaotic. There’s so much that needs to be done and setting yourself up for a smooth morning makes your life easier, mama! Picking out outfits for your toddler can be such a drag. Trying to piece together an outfit for your toddler (even with an organized closet) can be a true struggle at 5am. You want your child to look decent when they get to daycare but you also don’t want them dressed in their best looking outfits – they will definitely get ruined.

In this post I will share how I dress my son by the season (Summer, Winter, Spring, Fall); how to wash your toddlers clothes so that they remain in good wear; and share 3 tips that will help get you out the door faster on school mornings.

This post is all about 5 Cute and Comfy Toddler Boy Outfits for Daycare.

Spring and Summer wear:

Hands down, go-to summer outfits consist of comfy, cotton shorts and a graphic tee-shirt. I NEVER dress my son in jeans for daycare no matter the season – not shorts or pants. The kids are playing constantly on the floor and outside. Jeans are not easy or comfortable for adults to move in, let alone a toddler and we don’t move around as much as they do in a day. I buy most of our outfits from our local Ross Store, Target, Walmart, or Old Navy. All of these stores have super great and affordable toddler clothes. They are high quality and wash well. Some of them can be purchased separately or purchased as sets from places like Walmart, Old, Navy, and Target.

Fall and Winter wear:

Between August and mid-October he is dressed in Performance Dri-Fit, type of outfits. These toddler boy outfit sets are great for the transition between these two seasons. Some days it’s hot and some days it’s relatively cold. These outfits are perfect for the in-between weather types. We hit gold for these types of outfits at stores like the Ross Store and Marshalls.

During the full blown winter months, sweat pants and tee-shirts with a hoodie are our go to. Sometimes we buy them in sets and other times we buy the sweat pants and shirts separately.

How to wash your toddlers clothes so that they remain in good wear:

To keep my son’s clothes in good shape, long-term I always wash his clothes with Dreft detergent, in cold water, on the delicate cycle. Never wash clothes and blankets together. Towels, washcloths, and blankets (depending on the quality of blanket) get washed together and clothes get washed together. We very rarely wash his clothes by color but some of his really nice and expensive clothes we will wash the same as above but separate from anything else. This has worked the best for us. His clothes last long and we usually don’t get rid of them until he grows out of them. Of course he spills food, paint, markers, etc. on them and we use the Draft brand stain remover for stains. If the stain remover doesn’t get rid of the stains then we either donate them to Goodwill, allow him to use the clothing for painting activities or outdoor activities, if he’s sick or for around the house type of days, or give them to friends or neighbors.

3 tips that will help you get out the door faster in the mornings:
  1. Get as many things out the night before:

I get out his lunch box and on top of the lunchbox I leave a sticky note of the foods I’ll be packing in his lunchbox – this way I don’t even have to think about what I’ll be packing him. I fill his sippy cup and keep it in the fridge overnight. Lastly, I lay out his clothes, shoes, cocks, blanket, and diaper bag all in the same place so it’s easy to grab in the morning.

  1. Try to get up before your kid(s):

This is HARD! But, it really helps. You can get so much done without interruption before your child wakes up. You get a head start on the day, a moment of peace, and a chance of mental clarity before a potentially chaotic morning.

  1. Time your morning tasks. Be aware of the clock:

When both kids wake up and the morning is in motion it’s easy to lose track of time. I try to set 10-15 minute mini alarms for myself once the kids get up and moving. This helps with time management and keeps me on track. I am forced to look at my phone (when I turn off or snooze the alarm I set) and see what time it is. Yes, I have clocks around my home but my attention isn’t focused on the clock when I am deep in mom mode and focused on completing tasks and getting out the door.

This post was all about the 5 toddler boy outfits for daycare. You can still dress your child in stylish toddler clothes on a budget. Make your mornings stress free and head out the door on-time with the best 3 tips suggested in this post. Get up. Get organized. And happy planning!
